Prior Learning Assessment
The Prior Learning Assessment Master Course was originally sponsored by Southern Polytechnic State University due in part to a generous grant offered by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL).
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) is a process by which students present acceptable documentation demonstrating they have achieved some type of college/university level learning that could be translated into college/university level credit.
This self-paced, on-demand program is ideal for assessors who may be responsible assisting candidates for prior learning course credit.
These candidates may be:
- Degree-seeking students with unfilled credit.
- Students who have worked under the scope of a supervisor or have worked as a supervisor or manager.
- Adult students with a GED or high school diploma.
- And many more!
Once you complete this program, you will have a basic understanding of PLA and be able to assess prior learning for your respective organization.
